Frederick Wayne Gowan, age 44, resident of Columbia, passed away Friday, June 23 unexpectedly at his home.
Funeral services for Wayne will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 27 in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Kelley officiating. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 26 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Timmy Collins, Justin Rhodes, Kenny Kelley, Michael Hill, Tommy Vaughn, Dustin Potts and Jaren Adkins. Honorary pallbearers will be Keland Kelley, Ray Hall and employees of Walker Die Casting.
Born October 15, 1972 in Maury County, son of Geraldine Kelley Gowan and the late Fred Blythe Gowan. A graduate of Columbia Central High School, he was employed as a tow motor operator for Walker Die Casting. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and collecting caps. He enjoyed playing video games and watching the TN Vols and Atlanta Braves. Wayne loved all his nieces and nephews, but his favorite was Jace Scribner.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by a brother: Tony (Dee) Sullivan of Franklin; nieces and nephew: Danielle Ragsdale, Ashley (Justin) Rhodes, Brittney (Brian) Richards, Jeremy (Chloe) Wolski; great nephews: Zay Sullivan, Bubba Houston, Isiah Sullivan, Jace Scribner, Mason Rhodes, Bentley Rhodes and Carson Ferguson; very special friend: Timmy (Angie) Collins of Columbia. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother: James Rickey Sullivan and a sister: Connie Sullivan.
