A native of Columbia, Barbara was born on May 29, 1949 and was the daughter of the late Jesse Johnson and the late Flora Black Johnson. She retired from Tennessee Farm Bureau where she worked in the cafeteria for twenty-years and was an inspiration to many people there. Every Sunday she would play the piano at Bethel Baptist Church before attending her own church service at Elmore Nazarene Church where she was a member. She loved the Lord and dearly loved her church. She enjoyed playing the piano and the accordion and was an avid Alabama football fan. Barbara was married to Donald Potts for forty years and during that forty years, they retained the same home in Primm Springs. She and Donald enjoyed going to many different festivals together. Barbara never met a stranger and had a special place in her heart for her Dachshunds.

In addition to her husband, Donald, she is survived by her son: Stacey Potts of Primm Springs; daughter: Andrea Potts of Nashville; brother: Ricky (Lorrie) Bishop of Pulaski; sisters: Sandra Gail (Joseph) Ervin of Santa Fe, Janice (Darral) Teeples of Columbia, Becky (David) Ring of Columbia, Lizzie (Ron) Powers of Lewisburg; sisters-in-law: Joy (John) Stanfill of Primm Springs, Roberta Stanley of Columbia; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister: Doris Jean Johnson; and brothers-in-law: Steve Potts and Mark Stanley.

Pallbearers will be: Bobby Potts, John Stanfill, Dylan Adkisson, Alford Ervin, Allan Ervin, David Ring, and Darral Teeples. Honorary pallbearers will include: the Men of Elmore Nazarene Church.
