Otis Young

August 15, 1931 - May 19, 2017

Otis Odell Young, age 85, resident of Culleoka, passed away on Friday, May 19, 2017 at NHC Oakwood in Lewisburg.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 5PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Points officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 3-5PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

A native of Maury County, Otis was born on August 15, 1931 and was the son of the late Scott Young and the late Betty Pilkinton Young. He was a graduate of Culleoka High School and served his country in the United States Army. He was a retired mechanic who previously worked at Barr Motors. He enjoyed working on lawnmowers and fishing with his brother, Owen.

He is survived by his sons: Ronald Young of Oakman, AL, Keith Young of Culleoka; sister: Christine (Bud) Haskins of Culleoka; and grandchildren: Jennifer L. Young, Tabitha B. Smith, Ronald Edward Young, Jr., Ronald Otis Young; and great grandchildren: Lee B. Bircheat and Samuel Hunter.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson: Ronald Young; sisters: Ora Mae Holder, Louise Waldom; and brothers: Walter Young and Owen Young.
