Mr. Thomas Gene Holt, Sr., age 75, husband of Linda Holt, and a resident of Red Bud Lane in Columbia, passed away Tuesday evening, May 16, 2017 at his residence.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 1PM at The Pentecostals of Columbia Church with Pastor Telford Tharp, Rev. Danny Russo, and Rev. Jason Keyser officiating. Burial will follow in Loftin Cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Army. A visitation will be held on Friday from 4-8PM and again on Saturday from 12-1PM at the church. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on December 4, 1941 in Beaumont, TX, Thomas was the son of the late Johnny Holt, Sr. and the late Naomi Woodward Holt. He served his country in the United States Army and worked as a self employed carpenter. Thomas was a member of The Pentecostals of Columbia where he previously served as one of the first board members. He was an avid hunter and fisherman all of his life. Thomas especially had a special love for his family and church family.


In addition to his wife, Linda, he is survived by his son: Todd (Gina) Holt of Columbia; daughter-in-law: Sheila Holt of Columbia; brother: Johnny (Charlotte) Holt, Jr. of Newton, TX; sister: Stella Liles of Kirbyville, TX; grandson: Conner (Kaitlyn) Holt; granddaughters: Summer Holt, Brittany (Chris) Bunce; great grandson: Sawyer Holt; and many nieces and nephews.


Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Holt, Jr.


Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will include members of the Pentecostals of Columbia.
