He was born in Middlesboro, KY on May 18th 1933 to Mary Etta Bolton and to two older sisters. He was just shy of his birthday by nine days when he passed, he would have been 84. Jim graduated from Middlesboro High School and enlisted into the Army soon after that. Before he left for his time in the service, he proposed to Georgia Ellen Lambert. She said yes and when he returned home they were married. Jim was first and foremost a man of God and after that his priorities were to his loving wife and children. Jim enjoyed a long career in the fabric business working with companies such as Joann Fabrics, Cloth World, and Gilbergs. He retired in the late 80's but he never quit working. He always kept busy sharpening scissors and knives as well as working hard outside on his eldest daughter’s farm. Later in life he cherished his grandchildren and his two great grandchildren. He always kept everyone laughing with countless jokes and little pranks. He was a true jokester and knew how to make you laugh so hard you hurt. Towards the end of his time some things changed, but what we find more important are the things that stayed the same. Jim's smile and eyes were two of those things. You could truly see his beautiful soul shine through those features. His smile was a comfort to us all, especially at the end and we'll never forget the twinkle of those blue eyes. While our earthly hearts mourn his absence, we know we will see him again in Heaven.
He is survived by his wife: Georgia Lambert Bolton; son: James Brooks (Brenda Thompson) Bolton, Jr.; daughters: Mary Yvonne Bolton (Darrel R.) Rinehart, Kimberley Anne Bolton; grandchildren: Andrew, Ellie, Mary Elizabeth, Lucy, Caroline, Lily Anne, James Brooks, William, Hannah, and Mary; and two great grandchildren: Clara and James Gordon.
