Mr. Louis M. Innamorato, age 81, resident of Columbia, passed away on Friday, April 28th at his residence.
Born February 4th, 1936 in Brooklyn, NY, son of the late Gelsomino “Joe” Innamorato and Philomena Caaggiano Innamorato and the husband of Leonilda Faccenda Innamorato. Louis served his country in the US Navy aboard the USS Allagash in the Suez Canal. He was the owner of C&H Salvage in New York. His hobbies included woodworking, model ship building, clock making and watching military movies. He was also known to be a great artist and was the former planning chairman of the township of Hamptonburgh, NY. Louis was of the Catholic faith and attended St. Catherine Catholic Church while here in Columbia.
Funeral services for Louis will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, May 1st in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Father Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Freedom at Maury Memorial Gardens, with military honors provided by the US Navy. The family will receive friends on Sunday April 30th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his daughters: Carol Ann (Craig) Harris of Columbia and Susan Jean Innamorato of Brooklyn, NY; brother; Joseph Innamorato of NY; grandchildren: Vincent Farrara and fiancée Jeanette Stearns of Smyrna, Jonathan and Rebecca Harris, both of Columbia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister: Mary Faccenda.
Pallbearers will be his family and friends.
