Nancy M. Jones

February 23, 1956 - March 29, 2017

Mrs. Nancy M. Jones, age 61, wife of Jeff Jones, and a resident of Point of View Drive in Columbia, passed away March 29, 2017 at Maury Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11AM at Heritage Funeral Home with Dr. David Cauthen officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Peace in Maury Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held on Friday from 4-8PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on February 23, 1956 in Atlanta, Georgia, Nancy was the daughter of Sylvia Heard of Cumming, GA and the late R.H. Heard. She was a long time member of East Side Baptist Church in Atlanta, GA, but had been most recently attending First Family Church in Columbia. She worked as an office manager for Raymond James Financial in Columbia for sixteen years. Nancy enjoyed feeding the hummingbirds and squirrels, attending to her flowers, and shopping. She also loved going to the mountains and the beach with her family. She was full of life and was happy all the time. Nancy loved her family, but her most prize possession was her granddaughter, Amelia Scott.

In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by her son: Jason (David) Jones; daughter: Lori (Jason) Scott; brother: Donald (Janet) Heard of Cumming, GA; grandchild: Amelia Scott; and her favorite Jack Russell: Toby.

Pallbearers will be Tim Barksdale, Dawson Barksdale, Jason Scott, Philip Jones, David Jones, and Leland Puckett.
