Delores "Dee" Gates

January 28, 1946 - March 19, 2017

Delores “Dee” Gates, age 71, a resident of Columbia, passed away Sunday, March 19, 2017 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 27, 2017 at 2PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Rev. Nick Serban, Jr. and Pastor Jeremy Godwin officiating. Burial will follow in Maury Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held on Monday from 12-2PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on January 28, 1946 in California, Delores was the daughter of the late Rev. Clarence Bumstead and the late Ida Weiss Bumstead. She was a member of First Assembly of God. She was an avid gardener and was a member of the American Rose Society. Delores loved her family and lived for her grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons: Chad (Denise) Gates of Thompson’s Station, Charles Gates of Arizona; brothers: Martin (Sharon) Bumstead, Bill Bumstead, Darrin Bumstead all of California; and grandchildren: Brock and Audrey Gates.
