Mike Rose

January 31, 1967 - March 5, 2017

Mr. James Michael Rose, age 50, a resident of Columbia, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2017 at his residence.

The family will hold a memorial service at a later date.  Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mike was born in Maury County, Tennessee and was the son of Donald Franklin Rose and Joyce Ann Tosh Rose.  He graduated from Central High School and started to work for Maury County Sherriff’s Department as a Deputy in 1988 and worked his way to becoming a sergeant.  He went to Kosovo, Czechoslovakia in 1998-1999 as a lead investigator.  Upon returning to Columbia, he worked for the Columbia Police Department as a patrol officer.  He later became Chief of Police in Coopertown, Tennessee.

Along with his parents, he is survived by his sons: Michael Shane Rose of Columbia, TN and Quinton Lane Rose of Columbia, TN; and sister: Devonya (Brent) King of Beersheba Springs, TN.
