Mrs. Nancy Caroline Kitchen, age 74, wife of Jim Kitchen, and Broker/Owner of Duck River Realty, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2017.

A private graveside service with be held on Monday, March 6th at 10AM in Neopolis Cemetery with Bro. Rick Points officiating with family only.  Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements

Nancy was born January 22, 1943 in Durant, Oklahoma and was the daughter of the late Lealon Travis Cox and late Vera Lillian Eastep Cox.  Nancy was raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. After graduating with a Master of Education degree from Louisiana State University (LSU), she moved to New Orleans where she taught school. Nancy and Jim were married in New Orleans and would have been married 48 years this month.  Jim and Nancy relocated to Orlando, FL for Jim’s employer Sears.  Nancy started a new career selling real estate but in 1979, Jim and Nancy with their two sons moved to Spring Hill, TN. Nancy raised her sons on the family farm and eventually returned to a career in real estate. In 1985, she opened Duck River Realty in Columbia, TN. Nancy loved living and working in Maury County. She never retired but she also enjoyed reading, gardening, boating on the Tennessee River, cooking and most of all spoiling her grandchildren.

Along with her husband, Nancy is survived by her sons: Jimmy (Maureen) Kitchen of Columbia and Travis Ryan (Michelle) Kitchen of Spring Hill; sisters Mary Virginia Cox and Sarah Elizabeth Cox Jeansonne; and grandchildren: Colby, Maren, Truitt and McCartney Kitchen.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister: Martha Ann Cox Anderson.
