Shirley Simpson

December 26, 1941 - February 28, 2017

Shirley Jean Simpson, age 75, a resident of Smyrna, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Tennova Healthcare in Shelbyville.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on December 26, 1941 in Nashville, TN she was the daughter of the late Joseph Halliburton and the late Geneva Bundy “Little Mama” Cox. She was a member Greater Nashville Church and previously worked as an office manager for a physician’s office. She was an avid Tennessee Titans fan and enjoyed traveling. She and her sister loved going shopping together. Shirley also enjoyed decorating. Above all, she dearly loved her family.

She is survived by her son: Billy (Theresa) McMurtry of Smyrna; sister: Sandra Lifsey of Nashville; grandchildren: Shauna Beach and Joseph McMurtry; and one great grandchild: Olive Beach.
