Denise Georgalos

September 14, 1941 - February 28, 2017

Denise Georgalos, age 76, a resident of Tullahoma, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at her residence.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at 1PM Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Nashville with Father Gregory officiating. A visitation will be held on Monday from 4-6PM at Heritage Funeral Home in Columbia. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday at 3:00PM at Maury Memorial Gardens, adjacent to Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on September 14, 1941 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Denise was the daughter of the late Spiros Pettas and the late Anastasia Pettas. She was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church. She sang in the choir and was very involved with her church in New York and Florida. She was married at the age of fifteen, and very soon after her marriage began working with her husband at a printing corporation for over ten years. After that, they owned a restaurant for a short time. Later, she worked for Reader’s Digest in New York for a brief time. Denise was a people person who was great with children and enjoyed helping others.

She is survived by her son: Fotios “Frank” (Anastasia) Georgalos of Spring Hill; grandchildren: Alexandros Georgalos, Dimitri Georgalos, Grace Georgia Georgalos; and several nieces, nephews, and sisters-in-law.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Peter Georgalos; son: George Georgalos; one brother; and two sisters.

Pallbearers will be: Alexandros Georgalos, Matt Sfirakis, Fotios Georgalos, Kenney Estes, Alex Bobo, and Carson Hood.
