Richard James "Jim" Shaffer

Richard James “Jim” Shaffer, 65, resident of Spring Hill, TN, passed away Sunday, February 19, 2017, at Centennial TriStar Medical Center in Nashville.

Born January 4, 1952 in Lowell, Massachusetts , son of the late William Fred “Bill” Shaffer and Marjorie Major Shaffer and wife of Gail Bomer Shaffer. Jim graduated from the University of Alabama Huntsville and was a self employed computer programmer. He was a big fan of Alabama sports, loved going to the Smokey Mountains and was known as the computer geek, helping solve computer problems for his family.

In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by his children: Williams Andrew (Stacey) Shaffer III and Josie Shaffer Hopkins, both of Decatur, AL and Katherine Diana Shaffer of Spring Hill; step-children: Christopher Anthony (Theresa) Norris of Loganville, GA, Max Steven Toney of Spring Hill and Kelly Renea (Terry) West of Atlanta, GA; brother: Ron (Sandy) Shaffer of Huntsville, AL; sister: Dawn Shaffer Reynolds of Pulaski; 10 grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: William Robert Shaffer and a sister: Beverly Shaffer Landry.
