Vickie Ann Blackburn Pruitt, age 55, a resident of Columbia and formerly of the Santa Fe community, passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 2PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Mark Lindstrom officiating. Burial will follow in Maury Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 12-2PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on February 20, 1961 in Columbia, Vickie was the daughter of the late Leslie Quinton Blackburn and the late Mary Jewell Davis Rogers. She was a 1979 graduate of Santa Fe School and was a member of Grace Church of the Nazarene. She worked many years as a cook and loved it. She also enjoyed entertaining and having people over. Vickie loved helping others and loved God and her family immensely. She wrote wonderful, original, and creative poetry. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she always instilled in them that God and Jesus were always present in their lives.

She is survived by her daughter: Jasmine (Brandon) McCoy of Columbia; brothers: Ronnie (Barbara) Blackburn of Santa Fe, Thomas “Tab” (Beckie) Blackburn of Summertown; brother-in-law: Don Millage of Lawrenceburg; grandchildren: Peyton McCoy, Camden McCoy; nephews: Billy (Becky) Blackburn of Murfreesboro, Josh Bagwell of Summertown; nieces: Patricia (Patrick) Smithson of Santa Fe, Michelle (T.J.) Brassfield of Lawrenceburg; five great nieces and two great nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister: Joy Millage; and paternal grandparents: Mathew Blackburn & Nettie Smith Blackburn.

Pallbearers will be: Zane Wells, Quade Lunn, Robert Shrake, Billy Blackburn, Patrick Smithson, and T.J. Brassfield. Honorary pallbearers will include the members of Grace Church of the Nazarene.
