Roger Mitchell

September 2, 1968 - February 3, 2017

Roger Mitchell, age 48, a resident of Columbia, passed away Friday, February 3, 2017 at his home.

A memorial service for Roger will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, February11th at Destiny Church, 614 N. Main St. in Columbia with Steven Morgan officiating. The family will visit with friends from 11am to service time at the church. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born September 2, 1968 in Waukegan, IL, the sixth son and one of twins, of the late Lamont and Ruby Underwood Mitchell. Roger worked in sales for Action Mobile Homes for 10 years. He was a very avid Alabama fan, collecting quite a few memorabilia and he also collected model cars and airplanes. He would travel to the mountains as often as he could and enjoyed taking trips on cruises.

Roger is survived by his children: Devin Ray Mitchell and Loren Nicole Mitchell, both of Columbia; his twin sister: Sandra Mitchell of Columbia; grandson: Gavin Mitchell; uncle: Charlie Underwood of Illinois; special friend: Gloria Hendrix; caring nurses: Tamaki Clayborne and Maria Overton.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers.
