August 15, 1942 - February 3, 2017

Mary Jane McCord Primm, age 74, wife of William Briggs Primm, and a resident of Columbia, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2017 at Mt. Pleasant Health and Rehab.

Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11am in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Rolman and Rev. Byrd Broyles officiating.  Burial will follow in Pleasant Mt. Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery.  The family will visit with friends on Sunday from 5-7pm at the funeral home and again on Monday from 10am until the 11am service.  Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mary Jane was born August 15, 1942 in Williamson County and was the daughter of the late William Raymond and Eliza Jane Glenn McCord.  She was a 1960 graduate of Spring Hill High School.  She was married to the love of her life William Briggs Primm for 53 years.  She was a member of Delta Beta Phi and the Eastern Star.  She worked in the Maury County court systems and then later in Michigan.  She was a member of Pleasant Mt. Cumberland Presbyterian Church and was very active there.  Mary Jane was a lady who cherished life, enjoying every day that she was here.

Along with her husband, Mary Jane is survived by her sons: Michael Ray (Lorrie) Primm of Columbia, William Samuel (Diane) Primm of Columbia, and Robert Matthew (Sara) Primm of East Tawas, MI; brother: John Davis (Margaret) McCord of Columbia; sister: Harriett Ann (Alfred) Martin of Columbia; grandchildren: Michael Colton (Kristen) Primm, Hannah Victoria Primm, Briggs McCord Primm, William Hudson Primm, Katherine Morgan Primm, Cody Steven Primm, Eliza Jill Primm, and Lucy Jane Primm.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother in laws, Walter Harding Primm and James Haldor Primm.

Pallbearers will be her sons: Michael Ray, William Samuel, and Robert Matthew Primm; grandsons: Michael Colton, Briggs McCord, William Hudson, and Cody Steven Primm; and a very special friend: Nathan Paul Workman.   Honorary pallbearers will be the members of Pleasant Mount Cumberland Presbyterian Church and the past and present employees of the Maury County Courthouse.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the management, nurses, technicians, therapists, and fellow residents of the Mt. Pleasant Health and Rehab.
