Patsy Ann Heflen Kelley

March 1, 1943 - January 28, 2017

Patsy Ann Heflen Kelley, age 73, wife of Buford Kelley, and a resident of Columbia, passed away Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Life Care Center.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11AM at Heritage Funeral Home with Wendell Ragsdale, Eddie Rogers, and Jim Ledbetter officiating. Burial will follow in Maury Memorial Gardens, adjacent to Heritage Funeral Home. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-8PM and again on Wednesday from 10-11AM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on March 1, 1943 in Columbia, Patsy was the daughter of the late Roy Alvin Heflen and the late Gladys Mae Underwood Heflen. She was a graduate of Columbia Central High School and previously worked as a cashier for Giant Foods, Piggly Wiggly, and Super Rama Foods. Patsy married Buford Kelley on August 15, 1966. They just recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Patsy enjoyed reading and going to the mountains. She also loved animals, especially dogs, and she was crazy about all of her nieces and nephews. Patsy was good to everybody, and she will be deeply missed.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her brothers: Walter Terry (Connie) Heflen of Columbia, Larry Alvin Heflen of Columbia, David Ray (Libby) Heflen of Columbia; sister: Donna Joyce Heflen (Danny Ray) Goldman of Culleoka; brother-in-law: Cecil (Barbara) Kelley of Columbia; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be: Scott Goldman, Brian Goldman, Daniel Kelley, Steven Williams, Wayne Williams, and Troy Hughes. Honorary pallbearers will include: Kenny Green, David Lentz, CT Johnson, Wolfgang Wyk, and Ricky Tinsley.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Life Care Center for their exceptional care and compassion for Patsy during this time.
