Mrs. Mary Alice Goolsby, age 68, wife of Charles Goolsby, and a resident of Spring Hill, passed away Monday, January 23, 2017 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at 1PM at Maury Hills Church of Christ: 101 Unity Drive, Columbia, TN 38401, with Eddie Miller officiating. A visitation will also be held on Saturday from 10:30AM – 12:30 PM at Maury Hills Church of Christ. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on February 8, 1948 in Nashville, Mary Alice was the daughter of the late Henry Curtis Jackson and the late Lysie Dean Cooper Jackson. She was a 1966 graduate of Spring Hill High School, a member of Maury Hills Church of Christ, and the owner and operator of Sugar Ridge Creations for 30 years. She married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, Charles Goolsby, on July 9, 1966.

Mary Alice loved the Lord and was active in her church. She enjoyed entertaining and decorating, as well as, visiting and spending time with people.  She was also very gifted in the arts and could turn trash into a treasure. Mary Alice was full of life and loved everything and everybody. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her husband Charles, of 50 years, she is survived by her son: Richard Goolsby of Columbia; daughters: Jennifer (Christopher) Yancey of Franklin, Maggie Goolsby (Rian Reeves) of Spring Hill; brother: Richard (Beverly) Jackson of Spring Hill; grandchildren: Heidi Yancey, Hannah Claire Yancey, Lily Hancock, Jackson Hancock; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister: Helen Chennault.
