David Arnold

Mr. David Allen Arnold, age 71, husband of Janelle Cranford Arnold, and a resident of Columbia, passed away Tuesday morning, January 3, 2017 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 1PM at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Chip Hunter and Rev. Melinda Britt officiating. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 11AM-1PM at the church. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on April 28, 1945 in Rockwood, TN, David was the son of the late Glenn and Evelyn Arnold. He was a teacher for over 30 years, and during his career span he taught at Lewis County High School and Mt. Pleasant High School. His passion was teaching, and he loved all of his students. David was a member of First United Methodist Church. He and his wife, Janelle, were married for 28 years. He was truly the love of her life. In his spare time, David enjoyed going out to dinner and going to the movies.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter: Melissa Goolsby (Derry) Hicks of Columbia; brother: Phillip Arnold of Ashland, OR; and grandchildren: Alexandria Goolsby, Derry Hicks, Jr., Chloe Hicks, and Adriann Hicks.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Keith Moore, Tom Smedley, Page Chamberlain, Michael Lawrence, Derry Hicks, Jim Milan, and David Williams.
