Marion "Granny" Szajnuk

October 16, 1940 - December 11, 2016

Marion “Granny” Szajnuk, age 76, a resident of Chapel Hill, passed away Sunday, December 11, 2016 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at a later date. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with their arrangements.

Granny was born on October 16, 1940 in McKeesport, PA., daughter of the late Leon Szajnuk and Verna Zeekey Szajnuk. She worked in the general services of the home health care industry. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who liked to do cross stitching. She was of the Catholic faith.

Granny is survived by her children: David (Annett) May of Taylor , MI, Alfred (Gail) May of Ypsilanti, MI, Patricia Scission of Holiday FL, Doreen Mader of Lewisburg and Yvonne Shott of Chapel Hill; grandchildren: Stacey Crane, Craig Crane, Anthony Bird, Michael Scission, Dominic Scission, Drake James, Ashlie Shott, Nicholas Shott, Cali Rakotz, Kara Rakotz, Christopher Crawford, John Crawford, Shana Crawford, Mark Mader, Samantha May, Michael May and Kelly Cain Cross; 14 great grandchildren; sister: Veronica Nahory of West Virginia.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughters: Dianna Rakotz and Deborah James; grandson: Roman Ewing; brother: Donald Szajnuk.
