Mattie Emma Kinzer Wisener, age 77, a resident of Columbia, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2016 at Maury Regional Medical Center.
A homegoing celebration will be held on Thursday at 11AM at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church with Minister Sharon Chatman officiating, eulogy by Pastor Alvin Anderson, Sr., and special tribute and words of comfort by Pastors Norman & Carol Jacobs. Burial will follow in Rosemont Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5-8PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on April 17, 1939 in Maury County, Mattie was the daughter of the late John Henry Kinzer, Sr. and the late Emma Nolia Greene Kinzer. She was a member of Trinity Family Church where she enjoyed attending and loved her church family. Mattie was a well rounded person who enjoyed life and having fun. She loved dressing up, shopping, and spending time with her family and friends. She had a heart of gold and would give to other people as much as she could. Mattie enjoyed playing Bingo and watching Family Feud and Madea movies. Above all, she loved her family and will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her son: Andre (Toniya) Wisener of Columbia; daughters: Vivian Wisener Timmons of Columbia, Sylvia (Kevin) Gordon of Columbia; brother: Charles Thomas Kinzer, Sr. of Columbia; sisters: Rosia Wells of Cleveland, OH, Annie Ruth Kinzer of Nashville, Deborah Kinzer Webster of Thompsons Station; fourteen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister: Mary Hall; brothers: John H. Kinzer, Jr., Larry D. Kinzer; and Godmother: Mattie Braden.
Pallbearers will be: Keith Hall, Anthony Hall, JerMarcus Wisener McKinght, Clifton McKnight, D’Andre Wisener, Derrick Walker, Evari Wisener, and Jonathan Hall. Granddaughters and nieces will serve as flower girls. Honorary pallbearers will include: Reginald Brown, James Fulgham, Joe Shyes, and her classmates at Carver Smith High School.
