Willodean S. Crain, age 80, a resident of Bear Creek Pike in Columbia, passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at her residence.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Heritage Funeral Home with Bro. Ronnie Parrish officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery in Culleoka. A visitation will be held on Friday from 3:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on November 22, 1936 in Maury County, Willodean was the daughter of the late Walter Stewart and the late Earlene Moss Stewart. She worked as a school bus driver for Maury County School System and in the cafeteria at Whitthorne Middle School for 32 years before retiring in 2005. Her husband, Carl Thomas Crain, Sr., died at an early age, leaving her to raise her eight children by herself. Willodean loved children and not only raised her own kids but many others as well. She enjoyed doing word searches and gardening, but above all, Willodean loved her family, especially her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children: Kenneth (Sally) Crain of Columbia, Larry (Lee Ann) Crain of Mt. Pleasant, Lavenia (Michael) Shouse, Rachel (Ronnie) Burns, Daryl (Tammy) Crain, Dana (Tonya) Crain all of Columbia; grandchildren: Kasey (Jason) Cox, Brandi Crain, Shelby Crain, Kristie Crain, Kandi (Jason) Young all of Columbia, Jeremy (Christie) Crain of Mt. Pleasant, Jessica (Stephen) Crain, Bubba Carter, Dakota (Taylor) Shouse, Derek Shouse, Thomas Burns all of Columbia, Hunter Burns of Memphis, Krista (Brian) Brumberlow, Kory Crain, Tyler Crain, and Daniel Crain all of Columbia; fourteen great grandchildren; and brothers: Ray (Patsy) Stewart of Columbia, and Ernest Stewart of Nashville.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sons: Tommy Crain, Kelvin Crain; brothers: Hugh Stewart, Bill Stewart; and sister: Dorothy Pack.

Pallbearers will be: Bubba Carter, Thomas Burns, Hunter Burns, Jeremy Crain, Daniel Crain, Dakota Shouse, Derek Shouse, and Jason Cox. Honorary pallbearers will include: Mary Etta London, Anna Primm, and Kathy Cates.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Mann and to Ronnie Burns, Thomas Burns, Hunter Burns, and Bubba Carter for helping Rachel take care of Willodean.
