Mr. Sherron Wayne (Hon) Hill, age 76, a resident of Hickman Street in Columbia, passed away Sunday, November 20, 2016 at his residence.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 1PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Eddie Rogers and Kyle Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Johnsons Chapel Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 11AM-1PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

A native of Maury County, Sherron was born on December 15, 1939 and was the son of the late Wilburn Hill and the late Effie Corine Potts Hill. He served his country in the National Guard and attended Athendale School. He worked as an operator at Occidental Chemical Company for twenty-nine years. Wayne was a member of Philippi Church of Christ and attended Highland Church of Christ. He loved traveling and taking pictures. Wayne loved visiting his family who described him as being a sweet and kind person who would give you the shirt off his back.

He is survived by his sons: Anthony Hill of Savannah, Tim Hill of Lawrenceburg, Zachary Hill of Lawrenceburg, Patrick Hill of Only, TN; brothers: Dale (Betty Carol) Hill of Columbia, Roger (Linda) Hill of Columbia, Dean (Edith) Hill of Franklin, David (Debra) Hill of Santa Fe; sisters: Shirley (Larry) Thomason of Lynnville, Holly (Randy) Brady of Mt. Pleasant; best friend: Cleo McCaleb of Columbia, eleven grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Donald Hill, Arnold Hill, and Dudley Hill.

Pallbearers will be: John Thomason, Brent Thomason, Brad Hill, Brent Hill, Eric Hill, Haston Hill, Chris Hill, and Jesse Hill. Honorary pallbearers will be: the members of Philippi Church of Christ and Highland Church of Christ, and the past Employees of Occidental Chemical Company.
