Beverley Johns Williams Gattis, age 90, a resident of Columbia, passed away Friday, November 4, 2016 at NHC Hillview.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11AM at Heritage Funeral Home with Bro. John Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-7PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on February 20, 1926 in Nashville, Beverley was the daughter of the late James Williams and the late Corinne Johns Williams. She was a member of Graymere Church of Christ for fifty years where she was a teacher for the Tuesday Thursday class for several years. She was a Mule Town Clogger, and she enjoyed collecting dolls. Above all, she loved her family, especially her daughter and grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter: Ginger (Stuart) Shook of Columbia; sisters: Nancy (Larry) McDougal of Nashville, Peggy (Billy) Benz of Goodlettsville; grandchildren: Adam Shook and Jonathan Blake Shook; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Benny Russell Gattis in August of 2012.

Pallbearers will be: Jonathan Blake Shook, Johnny Brown, John Compton, Kenny Compton, and Jimmy Fann.
