Mary Ellen Beam, age 95, passed away into her heavenly home in the early morning on Friday, November 4, 2016.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 8th at 2PM at Spring Hill Cemetery in Nashville with Jack Galloway officiating. A visitation will be held from 1-2PM at Spring Hill Cemetery in Nashville. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on September 15, 1921 in Ade, Indiana, Mary Ellen was the daughter of the late John Vernon Lewis and the late Florence Evelyn Erwin Lewis. She was a kind, loving, and gentle lady who loved the Lord and cherished her family. She treasured those times of family get-togethers above all. Mary Ellen lived in Pensacola, Florida for thirty years before moving to Nashville, TN, Trevecca Towers. She worked at the Coffee Cup restaurant in Pensacola for twenty years. Mary Ellen lived with her daughter and son-in-law in Columbia, TN for two and a half years. Four and half months ago she became a resident of Elmcroft Senior Living, Madison, TN.

She is survived by her daughter: Sharon (Jim) Smith; grandchildren: Sherri (Brian) Allen, Shane (Lori) Smith, Shad (Sharon) Smith; great grandchildren: Brennan and Kaisey Allen, Jackson and Ryan Smith, and Nathan and Troy Smith; and daughter-in-law: Phyllis Beam Coulter.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: S.D. Beam; son: Robert D. Beam; and sisters: Lemore Alberta Tucker, Wanda Evelyn Donson, and Dorothy Delores Shadowens.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, and honorary pallbearers will be the Victory Sunday School Class of First Church of the Nazarene in Nashville, TN.
