Mr. John Leslie Plourd, age 72, husband of Diane Plourd, and a resident of Culleoka, passed away Sunday, October 23, 2016 at Williamson Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 4PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Father Davis Chackaleckel officiating. Military honors will be provided by the United States Army. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-4PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on October 1, 1944 in Wyandotte, Michigan, John was the son of the late Maurice A. Plourd and the late Mary Wardy Margitan. He proudly served his country in the United Sates Army during the Vietnam War, was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church, and previously worked in machine repair for General Motors. John loved Harley Davidson motorcycles and taking rides on his bike. He had a Mustang that he was very proud of and kept in pristine condition. He was a hardworking man who taught his children great values and raised them well. John was an excellent husband and father, and his family highly respected him for his hard working ethic. He was a jolly man who enjoyed listening to classic rock and taking his family on trips to Florida to visit his sister. He will be deeply missed by all his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife: Diane Burbo Plourd of Culleoka; children: John Plourd II of Culleoka, Leslie (Matt) Combs of Winchester, Laurie Breznau of Flushing, MI, April Yenson of South Rockwood, MI, Mechelle (Jerry) Moore of Greenville, IN; sister: Connie (Scott) Wells of FL; grandchildren: Mitchell, Melissa, Lisa, Jeffrey, Alex, Danielle, Matt, Bryan, Caitlin, Steven, Jordan, Logan, Zach, Madison, Natalie, Cameron, and Chloe; great grandchildren: Aiden and Grayson; and special friends: Belen & Ray Drewette, and Lara White.
