Mr. Michael F. Ali, age 59, a resident of Murfreesboro, previously of Columbia, passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at the VA Hospital in Murfreesboro.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11AM at Heritage Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Pegram with Military Honors provided by the United States Marine Corps. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 10-11AM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on December 5, 1956 in Flint, Michigan, Michael was the son of the late Shoffar Ali and the late Bobetta Hairston Ali. He worked on the assembly line at General Motors in Flint, MI and later was transferred to the Saturn Plant in Spring Hill, TN. Sergeant Michael F. Ali served his country in the United States Marine Corps where he was promoted to Corporal and received a letter of appreciation diligence in his work. He finished in the top portion of his class at a Communication Center School and received a plaque as Watch Supervisor of the Month while on temporary Additional Duty in Yuma, Arizona.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa Williams Ali of Murfreesboro; brother: Steven Ali of New York, NY; sisters: Patty Latif of New York, NY, Mary Katherine Ali of Flint, MI, Hattie Ali of Flint, MI; devoted mother-in-law: Ivy Williams of Albany, GA; special cousin: Margaret Hudspeth of Flint, MI; sister-in-law: Tina Williams of Albany, GA, special nephew: Brandon Marcus Williams of Albany, GA; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his aunt who raised him: Mary Hudspeth.
