Lucy Eleanor Young

March 31, 1927 - September 24, 2016

Lucy Eleanor Young, age 89, a resident of Columbia, passed away Saturday morning, September 24, 2016 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

The family will celebrate her life with services at a later date in Michigan. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on March 31, 1927 in Dearborn, Indiana, Lucy was the daughter of the late John W. Bishop and the late Mary Ann Colson Bishop. Along with her work as a homemaker and mother, she was the past President of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary Post 8 in Port Huron, Michigan. She enjoyed playing Bingo and going on cruises and she dearly loved her children and many grandchildren. Lucy was greatly loved.

She is survived by her sons: Steven (Wanda) Young, Sam (Margie) Young, Richard (Stacy) Young, Jerry Young, Clifford Young; daughters: Evelyn Buckner, Martina (Phillip) Terranova, Nancy (David) Lossing, Cynthia (Randy) Fulton, Christine (Bud) White; daughter-in-law: Sharon Young; son-in-law: Dale Meddaugh; and a total of 151 grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Stanley Young; children: Loretta Meddaugh, Stanley Young, Jr., Clarence Young; great granddaughter: Delilah Silva; and fourteen siblings.
