Mr. Benjie Brown, age 58, a resident of Columbia, passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2016 at Centennial Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 30th at 11am in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Rev. Kenny Anderson officiating.  Burial will follow in the Garden of Eternity at Maury Memorial Gardens.  The family will visit with friends on Thursday, September 29th from 4-8pm at the funeral home.  Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Benjie was born November 15, 1957 in Indianapolis, Indiana and was the son of Delois Mitchell Brown and the late Paul Lawrence Brown, Sr.  He first lived in California, but later making Tennessee become his home.  He was baptized and a member of First Baptist Church Pulaski, TN and had lots of love for God.  Benjie was an avid golfer and a member of the Ambassador Club.  He enjoyed traveling and treasured sports.  He would often help other children with learning sports.  Benjie was known for always having a positive attitude and a desire to help others.  He also enjoyed listening to Jazz music.  Above all, he was a loving man, being remembered as a wonderful father and grandfather.

Along with his mother, Benjie is survived by the mother of his children: Tyann Salgardo; son: Benjie Brown, Jr. of CA; daughters: Naomi Brown of Nashville, TN, Amber Brown of Columbia, TN, and Mariah Brown of Columbia, TN; brothers: Paul Brown, Jr. of CA and Reggie Brown of CA; sister: Paulette Brown of CA; grandchildren: Aubrey Amos, III, Matejah Brown, Lailani Brown, Xzayvier Humphrey, Zari Nicholson, Laina Brown, Syriah Benford, and Jaceyon Benford; several devoted aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews; special friends of the family: Emma Brown, Rita Ingram, Reggie Brown, Jr., and the members of the Ambassador Golf Club.

Along with his father, he was preceded in death by his son: Derek Brown; and his sister: Yolanda Auld.

Honorary pallbearers will be The Saturn Family.
