Mr. Dennis A. Sarvis, age 64, husband of Janet Sarvis, and a resident of Culleoka, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 25th at 2pm in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Dewayne Crumley officiating. The family will visit with friends from 12noon until the 2pm service. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Dennis was born June 18, 1952 in Anderson, Indiana and was the son of the late Wayne Sarvis, Sr. and the late Erma Shoemaker Sarvis. He served our country being in the United States Marine Corps and worked with General Motors for over thirty years. Dennis was affiliated with Cross Bridges Baptist Church. He enjoyed going to classic car shows and collecting them. Some of his hobbies included traveling to many places and boating. Most of all, Dennis loved spending time with his family.
Along with his wife, Janet Hutchens Sarvis, Dennis is survived by his daughter: Natasha (Travis) Duncan of Columbia; Brothers: Wayne Sarvis, Jr. of IN and Terry Sarvis of IN; Sisters: Norma Wolf of VA, Barbara DeMott of FL, Peggy Waggoner of IN, Loyce Gardiner of IN, Velva (Bobby) Randolph of IN, Rita (Francis) Robinson of IN, Karla Sarvis of IN, and Donna Robbins of IN; Grandchildren: Faith Monday, Christian Monday, Alexis Harlach, Hunter Duncan, Bradley Duncan, and Gabriel Duncan; Great Grandchild: Landen Harlach; Brother in law: Jim (Sherry) Hutchens of Columbia; sisters-in-law: Linda (Jim) Sherman and Peggy (Jim) Teague, both of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers: Richard “Buster” Sarvis and Wayne Sarvis III.
