Margaret Jean Roberts Potts, age 80, resident of Columbia, passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at Life Care of Columbia.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 1st at 11am at Heritage Funeral Home with Bro. Rick Points officiating. Burial will follow in Potts Cemetery in Santa Fe. The family will visit with friends on Wednesday from 4-8pm and again on Thursday from 10am until the 11am service at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Margaret was born April 30, 1930 in Maury County and was the daughter of the late Odie Roberts and the late Gladys Roberts. She was a member of House of Prayer Baptist Church and worked as a pressor operator for Weather Tamer. She later worked at Quality and Taylors Cleaners. She had a passion for country music and loved going to Wayne Cates in Hilltown to dance on Saturday nights. Above all, she loved her family and spending time with them.
She is survived by her daughter: Patricia Potts (Ronnie) Parrish of Columbia; brother: Gary (Betty) Roberts of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren: Shannon (Mark) Campbell and Maegan (Coty) Carroll; and five great grandchildren.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband: Buster Potts; sister: Marie Cates; and brother: Curtis Roberts.
Pallbearers will be Mark Campbell, Coty Carroll, James Edwards, Willis Brown, Jr. Cates, and David Cates.
