Mr. Sivaainkaran (AINKU) Chelvadurai age 55, a resident of Columbia, TN, passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at Maury Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family members.

A visitation will be held
on Sunday from 9-10am at the funeral home. A funeral and cremation will follow from 10am-12pm . The family will visit with friends on Saturday from 11am-2pm at the funeral home.  Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Ainku was born in Inuvil, Sri Lanka on June 7th, 1961. He comes from a highly respected family, his father the late Kanapathipillai Chelvadurai, a retired Malayan pensioner and his mother the late Packiam Chelvadurai were held in high esteem by the people of the area. They were very religious and had a flair for music. The musical genes present in the family blood are quite evident from the fact that all his brothers and sisters and their offspring are well-versed in music and art.

He married the love of his life Sivagowri in 1992 and was a devoted and loving husband as well as a dedicated father.

Ainku was a metallurgist worked in Wisconsin and Tennessee. A real peoples' person, he took an interest in his family, friends, co - workers, and neighbors, always aiming to help in whatever way possible. He loved music. His dedication to music and conscientious effort brought him into prominence as a popular stage performer. He was a stage singer for more than 25 years. He sang with much legendary play back singers from South India. His powerful melodious voice drew Tamil audiences throughout America.  He was happy to be part of the musical journey accompanying his friends to entertain the fans at Tamil functions.

He was an avid photographer and videographer. He has captured many special moments of peoples’ lives and nature. In addition, Ainku was a great artist. He could draw any portrait that was asked of him. His family and friends will always treasure all that made him so special – the music, the jokes, mimicry, and much more.

Along with his wife, Ainku is survived by his daughter: Anjali; son: Ashwin; brothers: Kamalaharan (Canada), Shanmugabaskaran(USA),  sisters: Vijayasakthiya Mahathevan (Singapore),  Jeyasakthiya Sri Ranjan (Zambia), sisters-in-law: Sivakenga Kangatharan (Sri Lanka), Sivasakthi Arulanantham (Sri Lanka), Sumathi Navakumar (Sri Lanka), Vasuki Sivakumar (Sri Lanka), Santhanathevi Manogaran (USA), Thilagawathi Kamalaharan (Canada) , Packiyaluxmy Shanmugabaskaran (USA),  brothers-in-law: Kangatharan, Arulanantham, Navakumar, Sivakumar and Velupillai Sri Ranjan; along with many nieces and nephews and countless music lovers.

He is preceded in death by his eldest brother, Dr.Chelvadurai Manogaran and his brother-in-law, Velupillai Mahathevan.
