Daniel Allen Foglia

March 14, 1958 - August 12, 2016

Mr. Daniel A. Foglia, age 58, a resident of Columbia, passed away Friday, August 12, 2016 at Maury Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 20th at 4pm in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Timothy Weaver officiating. The family will visit with friends on Saturday from 3pm until the 4pm service. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Dan was born in Chicago Heights, Illinois on March 14, 1958 and was the son of Alfred and Irene Foglia. He graduated high school in 1976 in Sparta, TN, and was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1973. He married the love of his life and best friend, Monica Beth Holt Foglia in 1982 and was a devoted, loyal, and loving husband as well as a dedicated father.

Dan was a skilled cabinet maker and wood worker. A real people person, he took an interest in his family, friends, coworkers, and neighbors, always aiming to help in any way possible. He also loved being outdoors, whether that involved hiking, working in the yard, or exploring the Natchez Trace. His favorite family vacations were spent building sand castles at the beach or relaxing by his specially built campfires. Most of all, he loved what he learned from the Bible and sharing that with others. He was happy to be part of a worldwide organization of spiritual brothers and sisters and have a part in many volunteer construction projects over the years, especially in Warwick, NY. His family and friends will always treasure the small things that made him so special - the jokes, shadow puppets, lyric creating, humming, and so much more.

Along with his wife and parents, Daniel was survived by his son: Addison (Britney) Foglia of Columbia; daughters: Macy Foglia of Cookeville and Raynah (Josué) Mota of Columbia; brother: Douglas (Miriam) Foglia of Columbia; and father in law: William Holt; sisters-in-law: Linda (Eric) Sandusky, Donna (George) Clanton, and Joni Holt; brothers-in-law: Scott (Shonda) Holt, Tim (Sharon) Holt, and Jeff (Lori) Holt, along with many nieces and nephews, and countless spiritual brothers and sisters.
