Margaret Hutchens

January 22, 1923 - July 27, 2016

Margaret F. Hutchens, age 93, a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday evening, July 27, 2016 at her residence.

A graveside inurnment will be held at Anderson Memorial in Anderson, Indiana at a later date. Heritage Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on January 22, 1923 in Ames, Iowa, Margaret was the daughter of the late Clifford Field and the late Marie Rhoads Field. She enjoyed spending time with her family and making sure they were always taken care of. Before her health failed her, Margaret enjoyed cooking, and gardening. She also loved camping, traveling, and going to the beach. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi and was a sorority sister for many years.

She is survived by her son: James (Sherry) Hutchens of Tennessee; daughters: Linda (Jim) Sherman of Florida, Janet (Dennis) Sarvis of Tennessee, Peggy (Jim) Teague of Florida; grandchildren: Natasha (Travis) Duncan, Jamie (David) Zloch, Sara Teague; great grandchildren: Faith and Christian Monday; step great grandchildren: Lexie, Hunter, Bradley, and Gabrel Duncan; and special nephews: Ed and Mike Prather.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Ernest Hutchens; and sisters: Olive Kendall and Delores Prather.
