Evelyn Alberta Poole Casteel, 79, resident of Columbia, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2016 at her home.

There will be a remembrance by her children at 7:00 PM Monday, July 25th at Heritage Funeral Home in Columbia. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Born July 31, 1936 in Loretto, TN, she was the daughter of the late William Otto Poole Sr. and Mae Banks Poole. She was married to the late Leo Casteel. Mrs. Casteel was a homemaker and a member of the Liberty Baptist Church in Lawrence County. She loved watching TV and her favorite movie was Stuart Little.

She is survived by her daughters: Marye (Marty) Hight and Nelda Hall, both of Columbia and Shelia Jones of Smyrna; brother: William Otto (Colletta) Poole Jr. of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren: William, Floyd and Linda Hall and Brandon Jones; great grandchild: Jaden Jones. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter: Pamela Hall; grandson: James Hall and a sister: Shirley Davidson.
