Gary H. Henson

March 29, 1946 - June 22, 2016

Mr. Gary H. Henson, age 70, a resident of Columbia, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2016 from 3:00 – 7:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on March 29, 1946 in Summertown, Gary was the son of the late Clarence Henson and the late Velma Clayton Henson. He was a 1965 graduate of Summertown High School and served two years in the United States Navy. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and vegetable gardening.

He is survived by his wife: Jane Cozart Henson of Columbia; children: Jeff (Dianne) Henson of Columbia, Howard (Angie) Norman, Jr. of Cornersville, Cindy (Barry) Hargrove of Lewisburg, Darrell Norman of Columbia; brothers: Arnold (Nell Lyn) Henson of Clarksville, Rex (Clarisa) Henson of Columbia; sisters: Dean Brown of Culleoka, Reba Cole of Columbia, Dot Cooper of Summertown, Linda (Charlie) Hamilton of Summertown, Janet (Skip) Taylor of Columbia; grandchildren: Tara Henson, Mason, Brent, and Leslie Norman, Jessica Shelton, Josh and Jennifer Dodson, April Posey, Amanda Norman; special great grandson: Trenton Posey; and several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Bill Henson, Harlen Henson, Donald Paul Henson, Roy Henson; and sister: Joyce Henson.
