Willie Farless

August 8, 1939 - June 21, 2016

Willie Eugene Farless, age 77, a resident of Bear Creek Pike in Columbia, passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at his residence.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 23rd at 7pm at Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Brian Harrell officiating.  Military honors will be provided by the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends on Thursday from 5pm until the 7pm service.  Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on February 8, 1939 in Woodbury, TN, Willie was the son of the late Mr. & Mrs. Chester Farless, Sr. He served his country the United States Marine Corps and previously worked in small engine repair for a lawn care company. He enjoyed traveling and was specifically proud of the tomatoes he planted and raised. Willie also enjoyed Nascar, but especially loved the UT Vols.

He is survived by his wife, Rachel “Sis” Farless of Columbia; son: Craig (Michelle) Farless of Shelbyville; daughters: Darleen Farless of Woodbury, Leann Farless of Woodbury, Kasandra (Brian) Lester of Woodbury, Kathy (Michael) Langley of Columbia, and Martha (John) Wagner of Spring Hill; brother: Jack Farless of Grover, NC; sisters: Agnes (Wayne) Underhill, Patsy Young, and Pam Farless, all of Woodbury; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his son: Eugene Farless; daughter: Shelby Farless; and brother: Chester Farless, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Brent, Wayne Underhill, Harry Lawson, Dwayne Allen, Joe Bedwell, Dan Perryman, Dr. Ruth Lamar, Dr. Charles Ball, James Patterson, Tim Boshers, JC Collins, Tony Hie, Wayne Everitt, Hubert Hie, Billy Dean Chestnut, Raymond Anderson, and Dr. Ken Pough.
