Mr. Marvin Cox, 65, of Columbia, passed away May 30, 2016 at Tri-Star Spring Hill.

A memorial service will be held on Friday at 3PM at Heritage Funeral Home. A visitation will be held Friday from 1-3PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on April 10, 1951 in Ohio, Marvin was the son of Rachel Payne Cox and the late Leroy Cox. He served his country in the United States Army and was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed farming and riding horses, as well as, playing golf, deer hunting and fishing.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 44 years, Marcia Morrison Cox of Columbia; son: Kevin Eugene Cox of Columbia; daughter: Robin D’Ann (Jimmy) Stanfill of Spring Hill; brothers: Charles (Linda) Cox, Donald (Barbar) Cox, Russell Cox all of Ohio; sisters: Mary Ann (Jimmy) Cox, Martha Cox, Mattie (James) Riley, Tammy Cox all of Ohio; grandchildren: Shawna (Matthew) Guttowsky, Brandi Jennette, Jeramie (Kimberly) Short, Holly Short, Ivory Cox, Landon Cox; and great grandchildren: Patrick and Andrew Guttowsky, Breanna and Blaine Jennette, Dayton and Hailey Short, and Sammy Watts.
