William Roscoe Ballance

December 22, 1942 - May 28, 2016

Mr. William Roscoe Ballance, age 73, of Columbia, passed away May 28, 2016 at Claiborne and Hughes Nursing Home.

Born on December 22, 1942, in Four Oaks, North Carolina, William was the son of the late Battle R. Ballance and the late Julia Hargiss Ballance. He served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War where he worked for NORAD. He enjoyed reading and watching TV and movies. William loved his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife: Dorothy Ballance of Columbia; son: Randy Ballance of Colorado Springs, CO; daughters: Teresa (Evan) Shelton of Columbia, Nicole (Lee) White of Canyon Lake, TX; brothers: William (Judy) Ballance, George (Judy) Ballance, John (Carol) Ballance; sisters: Trilloe McClamb, Anna Geraldine Jockish, Melba Green; six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister: Faye Johnson.
