Mrs. Peggie Nixon Raborn, age 75, a resident of Columbia, passed away Monday, May 30, 2016 at Life Care Center of Columbia.
A celebration of Mrs. Raborn life will be held at a later date. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born July 18, 1940 in Prattville, AL, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Irene Thomas Nixon and wife of the late Willie Raborn. Working as a clerk for Duke Energy Electrical in Charlotte, NC, she spent her spare time umpiring softball and refereed for pop warner football games. Mrs. Raborn loved all types of sports, especially baseball, and the Atlanta Braves were her favorite team.
Mrs. Raborn leaves to cherish her memory her daughters Teresa (Richard) Bogle of Spring Hill and Tami Syzmborski of Lyons, GA; a son: Merrill Raborn of Gastonia, NC; eleven grandchildren and several great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son: Charles Raborn; grandson: Kenneth Raborn; brothers: Billy and Charles Nixon.
