Joel Bevin Redd, age 77, a resident of Porter Circle in Columbia, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2016 at 1:00 PM at the Pentecostals of Columbia Church with Pastor Telford Tharp, Rev. Jason Keyser, and Rev. Vernon Wagoner officiating. Entombment will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the church and again one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on August 22, 1938 in Savannah, TN Joel was the son of the late Earley Redd and the late Hattie McClain Redd. He was a member of the Pentecostals of Columbia Church, and in his earlier years worked at Hytrol Conveyers in Arkansas for twenty years. Joel was a wonderful and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He loved Southern Gospel music, and he enjoyed playing his guitar and singing along with his family and friends. He will forever be missed and loved.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Mamie Redd; sons: Larry Joe (Linda) Morris of Brookland, AR, Keith (Angela) Redd of Columbia; daughters: Kathy (Jeff) Weaver of Jonesboro, AR, Geneda (Kent) Anderson of Murfreesboro; son-in-law: Johnny Benson; grandchildren: Harold Morris of Valley View, AR, Eric Redd of Columbia, Angel Morris of Jonesboro, AR, Kimberly Nunez of Jonesboro, AR, Jeremy Weaver of Memphis, Ashley Shemwell of Central City, KY, Brandon Weaver of Paragould, AR, Kayla Anderson of Murfreesboro, Justin Benson of Tullahoma, Megan Anderson of Murfreesboro, Hannah Weaver of Memphis; fourteen great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog: Baby.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter: Tammy Benson; brothers: James Redd, Junior Redd; and sisters: Annalou Cox and Edith Jones.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons: Eric Redd, Brandon Weaver, Jeremy Weaver, Justin Benson, and Harold Morris and Nathaniel Adams, and Havier Guerrero. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of Pentecostals of Columbia Church.
