Mr. Ronald Osmon, age 46, a resident of Columbia, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 23, 2016.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at 3:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Jerry Elder, Kirk Brothers, and David Bell officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Love in Maury Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the United States Marines. The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on May 10, 1969, in Flint, MI, Ronald was the son of Pansy Dorothy Griffus Osmon and the late Gerald Clark Osmon. He served his country in the United States Marines and was a member of Spring Meadows Church of Christ. Ronald was a graduate of Bendle High School in Michigan and earned his Associates Degree in Business Information Systems from Columbia State Community College. He was employed at Costco Wholesale since 1999 and enjoyed working there. He also enjoyed being outdoors and was a skilled wood worker. He was an avid Michigan football fan and coffee drinker. Ron loved going on mission trips and especially working with children anytime he could. He dearly loved all of his family, was very proud of his kids, and looked up to his big brother, Lon. Ron adored his dogs, Buddy and Jake. He often enjoyed playing Rook with the family on holidays. He will be deeply missed by all of his family and friends.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his Children: Terra Osmon, Tyler Osmon, Summer Osmon all of Columbia; Step-Son: Trenton (Jennifer) Smith of Columbia; Mother: Pansy Dorothy Osmon of Nashville; Brother: Lon (Donna) Osmon of Columbia; Sister: Wendy (Ray) Clark of Nashville; and Grandchildren: Hunter and Holden Smith. Ron considered Angie’s family his own.
In addition to his Father, he was preceded in death by his beloved Wife, Angela Osmon, who passed away in June of 2015.
Pallbearers will be: Donald Simmons, Donald Curtis Simmons, Austin Burns, Tyler Osmon, Trenton Smith, and Royze Pierce. Honorary pallbearers will be: his co-workers at Costco, Tommy Hemphill, and a host of family, friends, and loved ones.
