Mrs. Wanda Ruth Smith, age 65, wife of E.J. Smith, and a resident of Pulaski, passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at her residence.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 23rd at 11 AM at Heritage Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Garden of Grace in Maury Memorial Gardens, adjacent to Heritage Funeral Home. The family will also receive friends for visitation on Saturday from 10 –11 AM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on October 8, 1950 in Patrick County, Virginia, Wanda was the daughter of Bazie Mabe Smith and the late William Smith. She was of the Baptist faith and was a dedicated Christian who was always working for the Lord. She never missed out on an opportunity to tell someone about Jesus or spread the gospel. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who loved living a basic life. She enjoyed gardening with her husband and being a simple country housewife.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years: E.J. Smith of Pulaski, TN; mother: Bazie Mabe Smith of Danbury, NC; son: Eric James (Ashli) Smith of Thompson’s Station, TN; daughter: Tammy Lynn (Eric) Collins of Pensacola, FL; brother: James “Jim” Vincent (Callie) Smith of Winston-Salem, NC; sisters: Linda Sue Brown of Germanton, NC, Wilma (Larry) Tedder of Walnut Cove, NC, Rhonda Kay (Ricky) Hall of Shelby, NC; thirteen grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be: Eric Smith, Easton Smith, Jason Hervey, Omar Hernandez, Eric Collins, and Neil Collins.
