Mary Collette McGlone

April 29, 1920 - April 8, 2016

Mary Collette McGlone, age 95, a resident of Columbia, formerly of Longwood, FL, passed away Friday, April 8, 2016 at Life Care Center after a brief illness.

Born on April 29, 1920 in Talbott, TN, she was the daughter of the late John Franklin “Frank” Collette and the late Mintie Bell Charlton Collette. She worked for the US Department of Defense for twenty-two years, retiring in 1968.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. She lived with her niece, Margaret Smith, and her husband Dan, at 6932 Zion Crossing Road, Columbia, TN 38401. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence C. McGlone; three sisters and one brother: Norma Hodge, Elizabeth Jett Dill, Ruth Jett Heck, and Tom Collette.

A graveside service and interment will occur at the A.B. (Gold) Kiser Cemetery in Carter County, Kentucky at a later time.
