Juanita Staggs, age 87, a resident of Columbia, passed away Thursday evening, April 7, 2016 at Maury Regional Medical Center

A funeral service will be held on Monday, April 11, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Swango officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Eternity in Maury Memorial Gardens, adjacent to Heritage Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday, April 10, 2016 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on September 28, 1928 in Spring Hill, Juanita was the daughter of the late Ludie Haney and the late Aretta Haney. She was a member of Loyal Chapel Freewill Baptist Church and worked many years as a seamstress for Weather Tamer and Winning Moves. Juanita enjoyed gardening and cooking and having get-togethers with her family. She was a sweet, caring, generous, and loving person who loved her family and will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her children: Sherry Kincaid of Austin, Tx, James “Jim” (Suzanne) Goolsby of Columbia, Charles (Mary Alice) Goolsby of Spring Hill, Janie (Larry) Billington of Spring Hill, Susie (Dwayne “E.D.”) Brewer of Saltillo, TN, Debbie Goolsby of Columbia, Stephanie Baker of Columbia; step-sons: Gene (Angie) Staggs of Texas, Danny (Lisa) Staggs of Texas, Terry (Sunshine) Staggs of Pulaski, Jerry (Tina) Staggs of Texas; thirteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; one great-great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Sewell “Pee Wee” Staggs; son: Terry Wayne Staggs; granddaughter: Teresa Michelle “Missy” Kincaid; and her first husband: Sam William “Jobie” Goolsby.

Pallbearers will be: Zachary Baker, Brian Brewer, Jason Brewer, Herbert Fitzgerald, Adam Goolsby, and Richard Goolsby. Dr. Gaylon Harris and the members of Loyal Chapel Freewill Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.
