William Thomas Hambek

May 29, 1925 - April 8, 2016

Mr. William Thomas Hambek, age 90, a resident of Columbia, passed away Friday morning, April 8, 2016 at his residence.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Heritage Funeral Home with Bill’s son-in-law, Scott Davenport, officiating. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, at 1:00 PM at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Nashville with military honors provided by the United States Air Force. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, April 11, 2016 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Bill was a veteran of World War II, was retired from the Veterans Administration Hospital in Washington D.C., and was a faithful member of Jackson Heights Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife: Linda Hambek; daughters: Jennifer (Scott) Davenport, Helen Lund; grandchildren: Levi (Kaylyn) Davenport, Joshua (Alice) Davenport, Sarah Davenport, Cody Lund, Caleb Lund, Courtney Lund; and great granddaughter: Micah Nicole Davenport.
