Mr. Norman Lee Thomas, age 78, a resident of Culleoka, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2016 at NHC Hillview.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at 12:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Bro. Andrew Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Johnson Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 from 3:00 – 7:00 PM and again on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the service at 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on December 24, 1937 in Maury County, Norman was the son of the late Norman Matthew Thomas and the late Cora Lee Davis Thomas. He was a member of Johnson Chapel Baptist Church where he enjoyed attending church. He loved doing yard work and working on lawn mowers and vehicles. Norman also enjoyed talking to people and telling stories. Above all, he loved his family.

Norman is survived by his children: Erline (Leon) Waller of Franklin, Margaret (Barron) Bennett of Thompsons Station, Earl Wayne (Tammy) Humphrey of Giles County, Brenda (Harry) Tidwell of Franklin, Charles Danny (Michelle) Humphrey of Franklin, Ronnie Dale (Judy) Humphrey of Hohenwald, Carolyn (Eddie) Jackson of Franklin, Randy Dean (Loretta Green) Humphrey of Culleoka, Reba Owens of Culleoka; brothers: Olie (Elaine) Thomas of Culleoka, Ollie (Shelby) Thomas of Columbia, Houston Thomas of Culleoka; twenty-five grandchildren; thirty-nine great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Ruby Thomas; and sister: Winnie McKennon.

Pallbearers will be: Lee Waller, Glenn Conner, Jr., Wayne Humphrey, Jr., Jeff Humphrey, Eddie Jackson II, Chance Humphrey, Justin Humphrey, and Leon Waller.

The remainder of his grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
