Rodney J. McCormick

October 20, 1957 - March 12, 2016

Mr. Rodney J. McCormick, age 58, husband of Tina McCormick, and a resident of Trotwood Avenue in Columbia, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 12th at his residence.

A memorial service to celebrate Rodney’s life will be held on Sunday, March 20th from 2-4PM at 412 6th Avenue in Columbia. The family requests that any cards or flowers please be sent to that address. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on October 20, 1957 in Flint, Michigan, Rodney was the son of Lois Cook McCormick and the late Julius McCormick. He attended West Point Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Rodney was described as being a loving husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed fishing with his grandkids. He was an avid Detroit Lions fan as well as a Michigan State fan. Above all else, Rodney loved his family and will be deeply missed by all of them.

In addition to his wife and mother he is survived by his daughters: Rhiannon Parent of Spring Hill, Chelsea McCormick of Columbia, Maureen (Andrew) Childress of Columbia; sisters: Pam (John) Bowers of Michigan, Michelle (Michael) Greig of Texas; and grandchildren: Ryleigh and Landen Parent, Kasen White, Talyn Evans, Baye Wood, and Curtis Childress.

Along with his father, he was preceded in death by his sisters: Christine and Beth McCormick.
