William Earl Martin, Jr.

November 15, 1965 - March 10, 2016

William Earl Martin, Jr., age 50, husband of Shelia Martin and a resident of Belfast, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Marshall Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held on Monday at 2pm at Heritage Funeral Home with John Stanfill officiating. Burial will follow in Johnson Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Sunday from 4-7pm at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on November 15, 1965 in Davidson County, William was the son of William Earl Martin, Sr. and Susan Smith (Phil) Daniels. He worked for Beacon Transport for over 10years. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing frisbee, wood working, and swimming. Above all, driving trucks was his life.

Along with his parents and wife, Shelia Stanfill Martin, he is survived by his son: Joshua Martin; step-son: John Martin of Belfast; daughters: Jessica Martin of Atlanta, GA; step-daughters: Melinda Martin of Lewisburg, and Kayla Martin of Belfast; brother: Rodney Martin of MA; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Eric Martin and grandparents, Hugo and Thelma Smith.

Pallbearers will be John Martin, Brandon Westfall, Jonathan Heller, Danny Cartwright, and Jeremy Mangrum.
