Clay Hight, age 54, a resident of Sowell Mill Pike in Columbia, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2016 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2pm at Heritage Funeral Home with Danny Douglas and Jerry Golden officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Mount Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Monday from 4-7pm at the funeral home.
Clay was born August 5, 1961 in Columbia and was the son of the late J.W. Hight and the late Lucille Stewart Hight. He was a man that loved being outdoors, especially fishing. He also enjoyed watching the Andy Griffith show.
Clay is survived by his sons: Alexander Hight, Tristen Hight, and Christopher Hight; daughters: Karry (Brandon) Cantrell and Tonya (Michael) Bradley; brothers: Howard (Becky) Hight, Ray (Mary Ann) Compton, and Jimmy “Tippy” Staggs; sisters: Diane (John) Andrews and Linda Lou (Billy) Ragsdale; grandchildren: Brianna Cantrell, Jeffery (Kelsie) Cantrell, and MaKenzie Cantrell; great-grandchildren: Kylli Anna Cantrell, Kayden Cantrell, Jaylee Cantrell, and Kylee Moss; and a special friend Melanie Myers.
Along with his parents, Clay was preceded in death by his brothers: Wayne Hight, Billy Hight, and Bobby Compton; and grandchild, Jeremiah Cantrell.
Pallbearers will be Donny Brown, Ronny Brown, Josh Hight, Jeffery Cantrell, Damien Compton, and Brain Crabtree. Honorary pallbearer will be Donald Collins.
